Spray – The Pass @ Byron Bay
After muchos disorganization on my part and some reminding on Kez’s part Photo of The Week has returned! I thought another surf shot was appropriate as I’ve been out of the water for FAR too long for my liking and spend my days dreaming of the warm waters of Byron Bay. I swam out in some hefty shore break for this shot and took a pounding on the rocks at low tide – but it was worth it! An unknown grom lays some spray my way in the evening sun. Good Times
The last week or so have shown off the true colours of a Byronian winter. The sun is shinning, the sky a cloudless blue and the temperture (minus the odd sea breeze) is still commanding boardies and flip flops. But most importantly this postcard perfect scene has been combined with another element – a long lasting swell :)
This basically means my daily life has turned into a beautifully repetitive routine.
Lighthouse Sunset – Exmouth, WA
Ok so Photo of the Week was slightly delayed due to a much needed lie in and a very tasty afternoon and sunset surf session yesterday!
But it’s here now!
The above shot was taken at the lighthouse in Exmouth, Western Australia. A beautiful evening after a beast of a drive, we arrived just in time. We were joined by a shed load of other travellers who watched the sky turn all kinds of crazy colours as the sun dropped into the ocean.
Road to Nowhere – West Coast Australia
Ok so it’s not been a full week, but I’ve now decided to do the Photo update every Monday – it’s easier that way!
This shot was taken on Australias West Coast, where red dirt verges and roads that never end dominate the barren landscape between small towns. We pulled over in the camper somewhere on the way to The Pinnacles to shoot this one after hours of driving and just before sunset – for me it sums up my roadtrip on the West Coast – empty, tranquil and picturesque.
Ok so I may slightly be abusing my blog to rustle up some extra votes for her but I’m gonna do it anyway!
Basically my friend and model Miss Beth O’Connor is in the running for this years FHM High Street Honey in the UK.

Shot in the water at The Pass a few weeks ago – low tide and some dredging barrels; I have the scars on my knee to prove it when I got dragged over the rocks! This little dude was tearing it up – tucking into some mini tubes and owning the place. He loved the camera too, the above is the result of him sending some spray my way!
So finally the true face of Byron has begun to show and the swell has started to roll in.
This makes me muchos happy as I’d just got back in the swing of surfing everyday on the way up…!
Couple of days break was kind of needed though…I’m well out of practice!
But I wasn’t going to turn down any swell that came through!
Got back on the photography side of things today with a good old walk around Melb’ to take some nice architectural shots.
