Ever since embarking on my Australian adventure I’ve wondered how I’d spend my last full 24 hours in this glorious country. In the surf? Topping up my tan? On a crazy tour?
Turns out it’s the small things that matter.

Back to the Cairns Carnage…
8 10 2010After a lush weekend chillaxing on Magnetic Island we busted a groove on the Bruce Highway to reach our final destination – Cairns.
And this is where my Oz adventure finishes, where it started nearly a year ago.

Surfing, Unemployment and Planning
17 09 2010Todays been rather eventful, exciting, tiring and sad in equal measure – and for a mixture of reasons.
I’ll get the surf update out of the way – mainly because my blog is chock a block full of my surf related ramblings and also because I’m sure my brother only reads the intros to my posts….so I’ll get the jealousy in there before he switches off!

11 Down, 1 to Go…
12 09 2010Half way through today I was informed by Kez that today marks the start of my final month in Australia – I fly from Sydney on October 12th.
…where the hell did the last year go?!

East Coast Planning
4 09 2010After living in Byron for over 5 months I’m now in the throws of planning my last 6 weeks in Australia.
Having pretty much covered most of Oz (bar the red centre, Adelaide and SA) the only main section left for me to do on the backpacker trail is the northern end of the East Coast between Noosa and Cairns.

Top Ten Tuesday – Things So Far
31 08 2010Instead of bringing you another Top 10 Places post I decided to mix it up a bit this week. Seeing as I’ve been here just over 10 months I thought I’d recap and reminisce on my travels in Australia and bring you my Top 10 Things So Far – one for each month I’ve spent down under. (and yes I know there’s 11…but I did leave mid October!)

Top Ten Tuesday – Why Australia?
28 07 2010I’ve been in Australia for nearly 10 months now – and I can safely say I’ve enjoyed every minute of it (minus the hangovers of course!) but why Australia? What made me want to spend so much time in a place so far from home? So this week I’m bringing you my Top 10 Reasons I Came To Oz.

10 06 2010Stone Towers, Cape Tribulation
This image was shot on my trip to Cape Tribulation way back at the beginning of my trip in October 2009. Me Linzi, the two Dannys and Rebecca decided to do the whole thin of our own backs (mainly to save some dollar!) on the way up we stopped at a lovely waterfall and plunge pool in the middle of the forest for a swim. I loaded up the underwater housing to mess around with and spotted these stone towers all down the boulders. I’ll admit I have no idea what they’re for, but the pics reminds me of good times with good company :)
