This is me…

I’m pretty simple really;

Surfer by nature.

Photographer by trade.

Traveller by accident.

But there’s always people that want to be a bit more nosey than that, but I’ll keep it quick!

My name is Chris Stevens and I’m a born and bred Devonshire boy who’s been surfing for the best part of 7 years.

I studied Documentary Photography at the University of Wales, Newport.

When I left I went freelance and set up my own Wedding Photography company (www.cstevensphotography.co.uk) and also started to write articles for STA Travel, Black Tomatoe and Drift Surf Magazine.

I’ve travelled alot through my love of surfing and have always had my camera in tow (it being my job and everything!) so it was enevitable that at some point I’d venture into travel writing and photography.

Cue a trip to Australia – where I’ve been since October 2009 – a lot of random adventures, media blaggings and generally good times and you have this blog.

I’m just and accidental traveller (you can’t plan to be a traveller, planning makes you a tourist in my mind) who wants to pass on his experiences to people already on their path around the globe or thinking about starting out. Sure my articles are going to contain bias and opinions – don’t take my word for anything, if you want to try something just do it, don’t be a follower.

Just don’t say I didn’t tell you so!

From time to time I’m going to get guest bloggers on board to broaden the spectrum, we’ll review some stuff along the way (accommodations, tours and such like) and the general aim is to entertain, inform and keep your travel taste buds flowing while you’re stuck at work, scraping the pennies together to start your own adventure.

Enjoy…
